Aquafinance, their finance co. BIG RIP OFF ARTISTS! After I refused to pay, they filed a default judgement against me for $16,000!

June of because a friend had signed up for a free $20 Home Depot card, (she entered my address), a salesman came to my door asking to do a free water test. After spending almost 8 hrs in my home, he had convinced me that my drinking water was unsafe, even my bottled water didn't have the quality found from Rainsoft filtered water. Also, they threw in what was supposed to be a 5 yr supply of soap products. LOL! That was my two reasons for purchasing system. My water turned black the first day, the soap products were garbage. When I told them that, they offered me a 4 day vacation to Kalamazoo. I canceled the contract within 3 days, as stipulated in the contract, they ignored. I begged them to come get the thing because it continued to give me problems, by causing my pipes to burst 3X that following winter because they had left the system outside in the elements without so much as wrapping the pipes. The following summer I paid $400 to have a structure built over it, so as not to have the same probs that next winter.

Finally, Sept. Of they filed a default judgement against me for $16,000 because I refused to pay for a faulty product. (The original cost was $8,000) Well, thanks to my wonderful attorney, Today, in front of the judge on my case, Rainsofts attorney agreed to drop the suit against me!!! Woo! HOO!

They broke at least 2 laws that we found, and we could have taken it further, to a jury trial, which would have been fun to pin their ears back. But, the fact remained that the expense would have been much greater than what I could have recovered under our laws. So, we accepted their offer to drop the case. I'm just happy to know that I'm one less person that they could rob. They did cause me a great deal of emotional distress, caused a black spot on my credit for the past few years, and attorneys fees, but it could have been much worse. If you see the name RainSoft on anything, turn around a run till you can't run no more. (Or if they are at your house, don't hesitate to kick them out the door!)
