We received a letter in the mail notifying us that we were eligible to modify our mortgage. I called the number and spoke with Derrick Moszer. He ran the numbers and told me that we were eligible to reduce our payments by $1500/month. We made two payments of $1495 to cover processing fees. I was nervous about paying upfront, but Derrick convinced us that everything was legit. Once the payments were made, Ruby Price took over our account. She was hard to get in touch with, but whenever I threatened to call the Attorney General she immediately returned my call. She explained that she couldn't call back because she was busy negotiating for people who were about to lose their homes. She even told me about some success stories, and how she couldn't wait to help us, too. Ruby sent us papers to notarize and send to our bank. As the summer moved on, it became more and more difficult to get in touch with Ruby. She passed our account on to her daughter, Nikki. Finally one day this fall we called and received a message from Ruby saying that they were no longer returning calls on the advice of their lawyers. We filed a complaint with the District Attorney of Johnson County, Kansas, but have not yet heard anything.

The only good piece of advice that I got from Ruby was not to stop making payments on my house. If I had, we'd probably be in foreclosure right now. I just want out money back so we can put this mistake behind us.
