An African American male, in his 50s, rang our bell one Saturday morning (2/25) claiming that he had been doing some yard work in the neighborhood. I was solicited for $150 so that he could purchase the material needed to clean up our front yard flower beds that day. I also agree to pay him another $150 after he finishes the job (on the same day). He left around noon with $150 to get the material from a local nursery store and told me he would be right back. He left me a out-of-state phone number and his name then left. After 2 hours, i started to concern as I was waiting on him and my normal Saturday schedule was all messed up by this unexpected/unplanned event. I called him at least 3 times to check when he would be back, he kept saying that he was on his way back to my house. The last time I was able to speak to him on the phone was the afternoon around 4:15pm. He told me he would deliver the material at my drive way and came back to do the work the next morning. I've never seen a thing! And he never showed up the next day. I tried to reach him the following day at the same phone number, 218-250-6683. He stopped answering my calls after the first day. I left multiple messages in his voice mail but not a word from him.
