IRS (Supposedly)

Miscellaneous

I received an e-mail supposedly from the IRS stating it was an urgent notification. The body of the e-mail stated: "Please be informed, that you need to pay a penalty due to your failure to file income tax returns by the deadline that is January 31. It went on the say that the penalty could be up to $10,000."

The date of January 31 was my clue that this was probably a scam. So, I took the e-mail to my local IRS Office and was told that the IRS never sends out e-mails for any reason and to report it as a Scam.
