I purchased an extended vehicle service contract from a very reputable Honda dealership; the only reason I agreed to purchase the VSC was because I understood that I would be eligible for a full refund if the extended VSC was never used. The VSC was never used but seven years later I discovered that Signet has simply closed its doors.
