No Refund because SIGNET Financial Filed for Bankruptcy in 2011

We also purchased a warranty four years ago after being told at the dealership that we would receive the purchase of the warranty beck in the form of a refund if no claims were made. It is now 2012 and over a year ago Signet Financial Group filed for bankruptcy and we are left with our Dealerships offer to give us $300 toward the purchase of a new vehicle. $300 out of $2,300? That's 13% of the refund... A deal isn't even a deal until you get at least 20% back anyway... And not even that but I don't have the freedom to use it how I see fit! $300 is nothing to an automobile dealership. I understand these are tough economic times and they are a 3rd Party... But really!?! My advice, do no purchase an extended warranty EVEN IF they say you will get a full refund if no claim is made. Because the company can go belly-up and you are out the money!
