I needed estimate on placing back splash on kitchen wall. This guy came over and gave me price of $350.00. Said he needed the job to be worth his while and needed another job. Gave job of power washing home - $150.00. Requested money in advance ($300.00) to get started. I had to buy tile cutter - as he said his was being used on another job. He came the next day with two men - for kitchen tile - first day on the job he (Charles) said he needed $2,500 for a concrete job he had going in Raleigh, North Carolina that would pay him $19,000. He kept saying he had to have this money to complete this job. He asked me to invest in his business and he would pay me back in one month $6,000. That's how bad he needed the money. I told him, I would be interested in just getting my money back. On the 20th of October - went to my bank with his investment form and had it notarized. He gave his driver license - I have a copy of it and the receipt for the initial money for the kitchen. On the 19th of October, he needed a $100.00 to pay his men for the tile work. The tile work completed - not the best job - grout is cracking. Around the 21th of October, he was to start the power washing - he requested the $100.00- making a total of $3,000. Given to start the power washing. At this time, he was to come the following day as his power washer was in use by the company. He never came back. On the phone, when I would speak with him - he would say he was sorry - he was busy, I called too early or too late.in November when he was to repay me, he said he was having car problems, he said he put the money in a Dupont bank in Raleigh, NC and he had to wait till it cleared. Then after weeks, more excuses to follow. I have called the BBB, the Attorney General, various TV stations, written him numerous letters - he has answered nothing. File a fraud report with the police. I obtained information that he did this same thing in 2007 - for $6,500 - I do have that investment sheet also This lady lived in Wilson, North Carolina. This guy has a history of murder, drugs to name a few. The law here is beneath him. His parents have a Funeral Home in Garner, North Carolina Creech Road. This guy said in the beginning that he was the owner of that too. He said he was bonded. 3rd generation business. I have called the revenue - where license are vertified - they have a different address - 2664 Timber Drive Suite 425 Garner, NC. The phone # they listed 919-609-8343. None of this pan out. I would like to file small claims but not able to get him to be served. He is smarter than our government. What next?
