Brian mathew Trying to take money from my account with a bad check

First I get an email offering a job in my area where I live everything was fine until the person that contact me say I will send you a check for this amount you will cash it for me. Well the check arrive and I put in my amount but with that money I will pay the landlord for an apartment here and my first week of work. When I try to get the money after the person that start all this keep asking to remove the money from the ATM as soon as possible before was too late. My bank contact me telling me that my deposit was a bad check so I e mail this person back and he say that the money was there but if I can't get it they will pay me back. So they ask me to pay the landlord with my own money and wait till they arrive in my place and give me the money back. So far that's the only info I have a fake check. His cell phone # and email address. I don't know what to do next. They dont take any money from me. But still is an ilegal action against me
