Ripoff

A company called Advantage Health Guard telephoned me and listed several great opportunities for medical, vision, dental for $24.95. This package would include myself and my 12 year old son. Since I was currently paying almost $400 for my medical only (through COBRA) I thought that it would be great, especially they stated that they cover pre-existing illnesses.

They had other packages for a meal, hotel, and grocery package that was $19.95, I told him that I was not interested in that package.

The final package was for 15 days free trail with a long distance family plan for $38.39.

I only had to give them my routing number and my checking account number, which they would only use ONE time to charge me $9.95 for shipping and handling of the information.

I received a letter from BAS stating that if I did not cancel by June 18, that my account on file would be charged. I called the customer service number of June 17 to find out that the BAS company did not exist. I did a search on the Internet and found a Better Business report listing them as the lowest ranking.

A few days later, I received a membership card, and a membership booklet for Everday HealthCard Program, but the Company listed on the top of the card was BAS. I called the customer service number and spoke with a person, whose only responsibility was to give out local drs., dentist, etc. He gave me a number to call to cancel that membership. I have been calling that number and only getting a voice mail to leave my name and telephone number. Someone would get back with me.
I have not spoken to a live person yet. I did leave a message that I wanted to cancel my membership. I tried to log on to the Website but the page would not come up.

Unfortunately, I had to close that account and open another checking account to prevent them from debiting my account.
