Miscellaneous

I was on Facebook. On sponsored side, there was an icon offering to test IQ, with the heading that a certain percentage (I cannot remember how much) of women over 50 answer this puzzle incorrectly. I followed the feed and eventually they said that I would have to give my mobile number to get results. They only gave a few seconds to complete it, so it was impossible, timewise, to read the terms and conditions.
As soon as I gave my mobile, texts started coming in to it. I realised immediately that it was a type of scam and by the time I was able to put in STOP and send it, 3 texts had downloaded which cost me €6 and the only reason more didn't download is because I ran out of credit.
That could have been a lot more serious than losing €6. My mobile is the only phone I had and there was an ill child with chickenpox at my house that night. Should I have needed medical services, I could not have contacted them
I couldn't add credit to my phone, as these texts were lined up and not until I put in Stop a second time was my subscription cancelled.
I spoke to the Regulator in Ireland and they said they are following them and have had many complaints.
It would be great if scammers like these could be stopped
