Ooops Deductible not covered

I filed a claim after the hurricane in Aug. It was the most horrible and unprofessional experience i have ever had with an insurance company. I had a hard time getting in contact with my agent once the claim was file. AFI sent a first responder team to my home after i had told the responding agent that if it cost me anything that it was ok cause the leaks had stopped anyway. After almost a month of not know was was the next step and trying to contact my agent and leaving several messages i find out that the agent went on vacation and that i should be getting a settlement check in the mail in the next week are two. This is where the real problem starts first the settlement check came endorsed to me and my mortgage company. They endorse it to the wrong company after i informed them by phone and fax that my mortgage company had changed. Then I get a call from the first response team saying that AFI didn't pa them and that i need to pa them i take another look at the paper work that was sent wit the settlement check and nowhere on that paper did it state that i had to pay them. So i call AFI and after speaking with my agent she finds that the person that filed the claim made a mistake and did not make the first response team so it became my responsibility to pay them. All she basically had to say about her major mix up was oops. I would not recommend using AFI just because they have lower rates unless u know u will not have to file a claim very unprofessional
