I was contacted by Fidelity Merchant Solutions[FMS] with a proposal to provide small businesses in my area with a 2% flat rate credit card processing merchant account service. They stated that most merchants paid 4% or more and this would save them money. I would receive a commission for each account that was switched to FMS. They charged me $295.00 payable to the Federal Trade Commission for my back offoce web site. Within two days I was contacted by Shawn Green who walked me through the web site and explained that the real program was for me to purchase $15000.00 in leads [4000 leads] which FMS would contact to offer credit card processing and up to $150000.00 in small business loans. They predicted that 1% of these leads would become clients and I would receive$1300.00per account. My last contact with Shawn Green was 08/08. All calls to the service center were sent to voice mail and not returned by Green. The additional $7500.00 spent was to associated companies providing what they referred to as enhancement to my web site.
