Miscellaneous

I signed up for a training program to be an Amazon affiliate with this US based company – who call themselves the Net Consulting Company around October 21. They promised me I would get live on the phone training every day which turned out not to be the case. They are supposed to provide customer support but when you call even during their office hours they keep you waiting on the phone for 20 minutes telling you you will soon be able to speak to one of their agents but at the end of it you're always left with a voicemail message saying there's no one available and that they’ll get back to you (sometimes days later). I can’t be doing with this, especially with the UK (where I live) US time difference. I have tried to get a website started selling Amazon products but I hit so many difficulties for which I can get no help that I don't have a chance of making any sales.

I was supposed to pay a monthly hosting fee of about $20 on top of the $800 I already paid (which they claimed was a discount, as a kind of ‘favour’ because of my financial constraints), but I stopped that. Even so, the quality control manager said I could still run the site free of a monthly charge but I think it’s a waste of time as I don’t know what I’m doing without some 1-to-1 coaching which, as I said, they promised me but didn’t deliver. People have apparently visited my ‘site’ but nobody ever buys anything. I’m not going to spend hours and hours on this site when the indicators are that it’s a fairly elaborate scam.

I made the mistake of not doing enough research before signing up.

They don't appear to be a scam on the face of it, as their agents give you their names (whether they're real names is another story). Names I have been given are: Frank La Rocco (who signed me up), Zach Green, and Allen Joel. The last name is supposed to be a quality control manager. When I last spoke to him about 6 weeks ago, he said he would look into some of my complaints about the company (misleading descriptions of services, poor or non-existent customer support, hard-sell pressurizing techniques) but I’ve never heard from him since.

Whenever I have spoken to some agent of theirs, they are always more interested in using hard sell techniques to try to sell you more ‘services’ – sometimes up to $7000 worth – than helping you with the services they’re already supposed to be providing.

At times, I’ve believed them to be legitimate, but I don’t think they are. They’re just very cleverly treading a very fine line between what’s legit and what’s not. They’re not prepared to provide you with enough help and support to succeed, but if you fail, it’s your fault not theirs. There are a lot of companies who operate like this.

I have contacted Amazon.com on two occasions about the Net Consulting Company but – significantly perhaps – they’ve never had the courtesy to answer my queries about them.

The business address they give on their site is:

Net Consulting Company
7558 W Thunderbird Rd
Suite 1-152
Peoria, AZ 85381
and their Business Support contact number is (888) 230-2892.
