I was at work when I got a text message showing a charge for $29.22 purchase at a gas station in texas, mind you I live in CA. Well a couple minutes later another text for $108.28 another gas station in texas. Well I leave work asap to go and withdraw my money mean while calling Netspend to notify them of the situation while on the phone with them another charge $125.30 still in texas. Well the rep I was on the phone with told me the charges were pending and put the money back in my account so I thought and also blocked my card. I obtained a new card from the check cashing store which was still linked to my account but was told no charges would come happen. Wrong. 2 days later the charges, the larger of the two hit my account and money taken. So upset I called netspend only to be told that there was nothing I could do now but to file a claim. I would now have to get a notarized letter and fax it to them so that they can start an investigation. I was so upset because I said why was I told that everything was blocked and taken care of. Well according to Netspend the merchant forced the transaction through. How could that happen if I notified of the fraud... No reply. I was so angry because no one helped me but only kept telling me the same bullshit over and over!!! So now I have to send in letter hand written to dispute the charges they know darn well I never made to only then have to wait to maybe get my money back. I am disgusted at how easily they allowed this to happen and how I was lied to over and over by different netspend employees. This is such a joke!!!
