Miscellaneous

I didn't know that when I made a book purchase, that they had automatically signed me up for Amazon Prime. I only realized it when they tried to auto-renew on a credit card that I no longer used. This year it happened again when I purchased something for a gift. I actually tried to sign up for the "free trial" and a message appeared telling me that I was ALREADY SIGNED UP! I contacted customers service in LIVE CHAT and did not get much help. They said that they would turn off the auto renewal, then they said they'd cancel it, but I am not certain what the status really is. After researching the scam, most articles stated that cancelling one's credit card information on the Amazon.com site was the best thing to do. Be warned. If one orders ANYTHING on the site, one will automatically be signed up for Amazon Prime. What a shame—I will have to stop using the site now.
