Discrimination on the basis of religion

I went through 2 interviews for a customer serive position lasting in excess of 6 hours. I was told by the branch manager that after my reference check i would hear back by 5 pm the following Monday with a formal job offer. As i got up to leave, i was told that as my hair is long (in a pony tail) I would have to get it cut to above collar length to comply with the Servicemaster religious corpoate mission (a telephone call to anopther barnch of theirs within the same state confirmed this company policy is religion based).

I have confirmed with the ACLU that a fortune 500 company cannot compel employees or prospective employees to comply with a dress code that is relgion biased. Their female employees are not required to have their hair cut, so, as the job is entirely office based, there is no legitimacy to their insistence on my hair cut. The company is now circling the wagons and denying my allegation; their regional HR director during a lengthy telephone conversation even started to twist the comments I made on the phone to him, misrepresenting my complaint.

I expect Servicemaster to circle the wagons and not treat this complaint with any degree of seriousness whatsoever, and in fact, to deny the comment was ever made by their branch manager.
