A man claming to be my granson (sounded just like him) said a friend of his won a free trip to Spain. He asked if Josh would like to go with him, so of course he said yes. When they were settled in they went to dinner and met these two very nice men who said they would show them around the town of Barcelona. They went in the mens car and were pulled over by the police, and the police found drugs and two loaded guns in the car, so they were taken to jail. Josh was supposedly at the U.S. Embasy using his one phone call to contact me. The man at the Embasy called Sargent Mathers
told me that Josh would be required to post a $2,350 bond before the judge called his case, which would be refunded to me at that time by a check from the embasy. After I sent the money to Josh
to the Western Union office in Barcelona, Spain I was to call him
at 1-514-655 - 5375 (which I found later was a prefix to phones in Montreal, Canada) to give him the Western Union MTCN number. I did all of this and then "Josh" called me a while later to say that he needed $5,000 more to pay a fine the Judge had decided would make a more alert traveler in the future. I told him I didn't have that much cash available and he said I could get it from my credit card company. I then started to ask why his friend didn't help him out and he started to try to give m a reason for that and started crying, saying he did't want to go to jail for 30 days.
