My debit card was sent in the mail, never received and cash was withdrawn without activating it. He also made a deposit and a purchase. Later, I found out it was probably the mailman because he matched the videos the bank had of the man comitting the crime. He also did not come in a postal office truck and also had no uniform when he delivered the mail. The bank made me responsible for everything, provided no help whatsoever and refused to do anything about it - even though the video did not match me at all. The fraud detector, actually threatened to take money out of my account instead and closed the case. She was very rude, insulted me and accused me of being the criminal. I was told if she says it was me, then it was and no one can go against her word. The bank did not even investigate and they said they would make a police report (they did not). Now, my account is restrained. My bills have not been paid since they are automatically charged to that account and they have messed up my credit because my mortgage payment could not go. No bills have been paid. I also had to close my line of credit because of the fear of this person withdrawing money from my line of credit (because when he withdrew, it came from my line of credit). This has caused me so much emotional pain and stress. This bank has risked all the security that I have and shows no care whatsoever. I can not believe how easy it was for this man to steal from my bank account and how easy it was for them to tell me it is not their problem. With this security and treatment of the customer, anyone can steal a debit card and withdraw cash from HSBC.instead I am the one being treated like the criminal - when the real criminal is still out there. They told me they can not do anything and they will not. Please help me, I don't know what to do. My e-mail is (Personal Information Removed)
