First Premier Bank
Will not reactivate account for 20 days will not return $100.00 overpayment for 30 days Brainerd

Business & Finance

I have a credit card with a limit of $250. I've had the card for more than a year. I went over the credit limit somehow, by 35.00, well actually the amount I went over totaled somewhere in the $6 to $10 range. The $35 over was from charges assessed for going over the limit. I talked with an account rep approximately 7/25 about being over the limit. This representative was very rude with me as though I was a criminal.

With this kind of treatment, I said "I'll just close this account then, I don't need to be treated like this especially if you took the time to review my transaction history, you would see, I make, sometimes, double payments in a one month time. My payments usually range from $50 to $100. I have not been going over the limit." With this conversation, the account got closed.

I told the representative I would be paying the balance of the credit card in the amount of $285.02 by check since they charge $7.00 to pay on line. My overall disatisfaction with all the charges and the rudeness of the Customer Service personnel drove me to just plain close the account.

Well now comes the problem. I reviewed my bank account transactions today 8/05/08 and on 8/5/08 I see the $285.02 taken out and paid to FirstPremierBank and also on 8/5/08 an on-line payment of $100 taken and paid to FirstPremierBank. I had set up an automatic on-line payment and forgot to cancel it. Since I had closed this account, I called the CSR (spoke to a Betty) and asked could they reactivate my card, since there was a balance of $100 sitting there.

She said my account would need to be reviewed and could not be considered to be reopened for 20 days. I asked to have the $100 returned to me then. I asked when could I expect that to be returned. I was told 30 days. Why are Credit Card Services allowed to abuse other peoples money to that extent? It's enough the horrible interest rate people are forced to pay to get a credit history repaired but to be charged for paying on line ($7.00) I do have a differant Credit Card account that does Not charge for on-line payments, and when payments are made to the Credit Card balance they Do Not place the amount in hold status for 5 to 7 days.

To make it clear, the First Premier Bank Does charge for on-line payments, and when payments are made either on line or by check the amount is Not refigured in to the available balance for 5 to 7 days. The First Premier Bank is a rip off in every sense of the Credit Card World. One of worst. I hope others come to realize this and we will see less and less of their name on Visa or Master Card accounts.in case someone can or will address this problem for me I am giving you the last 4 of my C/C number 5493. The name on the account is Mary *.
