I have a list of 18 outgoing texts and 20 incoming texts charged at £1.50 on my Virgin Mobile UK contract phone. The texts are sent to 85545 and the received from 70034304. On calling Virgin Mobile to investigate, they claim that I had susbcribed to a so-called ringtones company and that was a source of the excessive charges. I recall using no such services, knowing that they are expensive. On further investigation I searched the 85545 number online to hear other cases similar charges from this number, with figures of about £120 in some cases, surprisingly two such customers were also Virgin Mobile. Despite my attempts to communicate suspicions of a scam to Virgin, they claim that there is no possibility of such fraud taking place, however my experience and those experiences found online seem to be fraudulent.
