Refund policy

I bought a childs bike 6/20/10 and on 8/22/10 it was brought back for repairs. After severals calls and 9 weeks later, the bike is still not fixed. The real problem is I wanted my money back and all I could get from them was a gift card in the amount of our purchase. I wanted my money back but since we originally paid by a credit card they would only credit the account. I explained to them we had since closed the account. How can they credit an account that doesn't exist? Why can't I have my money back? They already have their money! There's no law that says they HAVE to credit an account, they can return my money in the form I request, they just don't want to! That's how they get to keep your hard-earned money in their pockets. I will NEVER shop there again and I am putting the Gift Card up for sale for one of those folks that still love target.
