Don't buy gifts for people you like at Target - Buyer Beware

Shops, Products, Services

I received a gift from someone near and dear to me from Target. It was more money than she should spent on me, and I was very grateful. After a lot of tinkering, the product did not do anything it was supposed to, and I took it back to target.

Even though the product was a gift, they would not exchange it. "You mean if the gift giver did not give me a gift receipt, I am stuck with this broken $150 electronic picture frame?" I asked. They told me I could have the person come in with the credit card they purchased it on... They could look it up... Etc But all I want is an exchange. This person was very kind for giving me this gift. Why would I want to drag them down to Target again? And why should I have to ask the giver for a receipt. She probably did not keep it. And what if she did not buy it on a credit card?

It isn't like I exchange things all the time. About four months ago, I bought another product from them that did not work when I got it home. They exchanged it because it was under their $20 limit. I guess happy customers are overrated for Target's policy writers.
