A sales person in BlockBuster store 498 Lancaster NE #39 Salem OR, asked me if I would join a monthly movie program to get free rental on the movies I had choisen. I told him I was not intrested in a monthly movie rental program. I was told there was no oblagation all I had to do was to go online and look at what was available, if I was not interested all I had to do was to exit out by clicking the exit link at the top right corner of the page.
My bank statement listed a reoccurring charge from BlockBuster which I didn't recognize. I checked the last three months and the same charge was there.
I went to BlockBuster and asked about the charges because I had not joined the monthly movie program. I was told they couldn't answer any questions but I could contact the company.
I contacted BlockBuster customer Care office, they refused to help at first, then, said they would only refund up to five months of charges.
I thought there were only three months of charges but after contacting my bank I found 10 charges starting Oct, 8. I contacted BlockBuster again and told them I would file a complaint if I wasn't fully refunded, they refused and said only five months would be refunded. $44.95 was retuned to my account after which I had the debit card cancelled.
BlockBuster had all of my information at the store and without my knowledge entered it into a program I was not interested in participating in.
