I am returning my computer to the company for the fourth time for repair. I told Supervisor Stenneth at Tech Support that I wanted a new computer and the company can keep the lemon they sold me. I also requested an extended warranty. I turned this computer on at 5:00 A.M. On 8/15, and it would not boot up. It sounded like the fan or modem or whatever makes noise in the tower would gain and lose RPMs like a car wanting to start, but couldn't. I tried to power off and then power on to no avail. I tried unplugging the computer and then plugging it back in — still no luck. I left it on until 9:30 A.M. — still no luck. I tried numerous times to turn it on but still no success, until 1:00 P.M., then the computer worked. The problem is obviously intermittent. It could be the power switch, which was "repaired" on the second return. It hasn't felt right since that repair. I have been through about all I can take with this unit. I have asked Asus to keep this unit and send me a "new" — not refurbished — computer with a new warranty. Asus refuses to acknowledge any wrongdoing. The last repair (3rd time computer was returned) resulted in a computer that came back with loose parts rattling around inside. While on hold at Tech Support, their recording speaks of quality and Asus products. So far, the only quality I see is "low" — I would be ashamed to put my name on that repair.
