Sheriff joe rips off another inmate at madison street jail Phoenix

My brother was arrested november. He was sent to madison street jail to be booked. My brother is a diabetic, which is a serious medical condition. Before his arrival at madison, he has a diabetic reaction and was taken to a hospital in mesa by the arresting officer. There he was treated, given his insulin, and sugar monitored. I spoke with the arresting officer and he assured me that he was getting proper treatment and his sugar was coming down. He then assured me he was getting a prescription for his insulin and it would be filled so he had it when he got to madison.

Well when me brother got to madison and it was time for his insulin. The medical staff refused to give him his insulin instructed by the hospital.instead they wanted to give him insulin that would give him a diabetic reaction which could lead to a diabetic coma.

Now this awful that this is allowed in a medical facillity at a jail. Even though my brother is an inmate, he is still a human with a serious medical condition that could lead to death if not treated. The jail is liable for one's medical needs.

I was furious when my brother told me this and investigated every way possible to reach someone to take care of this issue. Nothing like this should ever occur at a jail.

I bailed my brother out the next day and he ended up in the hospital for 4 days after due to a diabetic reaction, which was a result from him not recieving the proper insulin while at madison.

I am still looking into how i file a complaint against joe arpaio and his jail. This is horrible and he should be ashamed of how his medical staff treats an inmate with a serious condition
