I met Janel from the Philippines on a dating site, Asian dating.com. I fell in love with her and soon she started asking for money. At first she said she needed $1,300 to get a visa so she could come here to Hawaii to get married. The following week she called back to say her visa was denied. She was crying and said she would need an additional $13,000 to prove to the American embassy that she had money in the bank, and if she got the money, she would be approved for the visa. Being totally blinded by love, I sent her the money.

She then said she got approved, but she wanted an additional $3,500 to get her nursing license. The day she was supposed to come here, she faked an illness, claiming she was hospitalized with typhoid fever, and asked me to pay for her hospital bills and medication, an additional $2,700. All the while, I was sending her money via western union for "living expenses".

This scam went on from early March until June. Needless to say, she never showed up, and left my bank account drained and my heart broken.

Her email is Janelmercado27@yahoo.com. She also has a facebook page under that name (Janel Mercado).

After I finally got wise to her I sent her an email asking her for my money back. She sent me an email saying she would return the money, but since then, she has subsequently ignored all emails, and is not answering her phone.
