I signed up with a roommate matching site and the above person first contacted me on 7/2. She was living in the UK but was moving back to the US. She said her "financial officer" would be sending me a cashiers check to secure the room. She frantically e-mails me to say I was overpaid she needs $1380 back to pay for her plane ticket. So I run to WU and sent it. It never crossed my mind that this could be a scam. On 7/21 she needs another $600 for taxes and I wire that. I wise up and stop replying to her emails. The bank sents me the check back and guess what? It's counterfeit!!!
