Between mid- March and mid-May we paid $4700 to the company to help us with a mortgage reduction with our mortgage lender BB&T. They (a Mr. Romero, Mr. Harvey, a Navin (no last name) and a David Gollub (not sure of spelling). We completed paperwork exposing ourselves (and all our indebtedness) to them. They indicated we qualified for a mortgage reduction and sent papers off to our lender. We ended up working directly with the lender (who at this point isn't much better than Empire) and indeed we did qualify. Well it turns out we now are not eligible for a reduction and our lender is suggesting a short sale (I'm so disappointed after all this time and anguish). My husband has attempted to reach the people at Empire Home Savings and not being able to call them (line constantly busy), he went out to the office only to find they aren't there any longer. We aren't sure what the next steps should be.
