Sales clerk removed a 50% off label from the package at the register and claimed it didnt apply

My fiance went to the store Sat. Night and selected a set of shoes with a 50% off label attached. At the register, the clerk removed the sales tag and proclaimed that the sale didn't apply to this pair because it was too new. This clearly violates any ethical behavior of a sales clerk, and also violates the FTC rules. The sale did not proceed, and we will not shop this location and its unethical sales clerk again
