Failure to acknowledge payment - Mortgage

We sold a house in March. The settlement documents reflect payment of a second mortgage held by GMAC. GMAC reported us delinquent on payments the following May and June. This erroneous report is damaging our credit score and causing us to be charged a higher rate on a loan on a new home set to close in January.
