Ignored Us

8:30pm I took my wife to Tony Roma's in San Marcos, CA for a birthday dinner. We were greeted by a hostess who was folding napkins and tableware to the side where she could watch a large screen TV located over the bar. It seemed that 3 or 4 employees also watching TV. She seated us in a booth we selected and told us about the rib/chicken special for the night and that sounded great to us. We were told that someone would be taking our orders. They were not busy as there were only about 10 to 12 patrons in the restaurant enjoying their meals.

We sat there for 10 to 15 minutes waiting for someone to wait on us. There was a female employee putting dishes and things away and one male was cleaning a table. A female person who appeared to be of authority came in from the side, stroked her nostrils with her fingers and walked into the back room. We waited another 2 to 5 minutes and left. The host was again sitting infront of the large screen TV folding napkins and tableware so I complained to her that no-one waited on us. She got up and said "Didn't he wait on you?" I noticed that the other "employee looking men" were also watching TV and that is apparently why we were not waited on. Too many pre-occupied with TV. We then walked across to the Acapulco however the place was packed and the hostess greeted us but said there was a one hour wait. What a way to ruin a birthday.
