Tire psi monitor system

My 07 Silverado came with a sorry excuse for tires (General Ameritrac). Thats the first problem but it gets worse. Being an easy going person I took it on the chin and ordered a good set of michellin ltx ms2. Come to find out the tire Preasure moinitor system on my truck dont allow for truck tires. Now what the heck was GM thinking not making this an adjustable feature for those who wish to use there truck as a truck. So now I have to stare at a light on my dash that says tire preasure wrong way to go GM To thumbs down
