ATT Collection Agency Lette

I returned a DVR, 2 regular TV units, and a DSL in the boxes they provided with their pre-printed labels. They are now saying I never returned the units and have sent collections after me for over $1320! I told them I did not keep a copy of their own pre-printed labels. I have a formal response from the collection agency that ATT says 'too bad' and I owe $1300. Who can help me? I see others have had the same issue.
