No payment work performed

I was hired by this company to operate a bobcat to remove brush from the side of the highway. I never saw a bobcat on the job and was forced to use a chainsaw to clear the brush. I worked for these people for four days. I was supposed to be paid on a Friday, I contacted this company several times on that friday, one excuse after another about where my check was. Last I heard was it was in the mail, it has been seven days now and no check! These people are contracted by The Texas Department of Transportation to clear brush in 5 counties in Texas. They are window cleaners from Houston Texas, I guess that should of been my clue that my choice was not good. All Im asking is to get paid for the work I did.
