Water Bill

Miscellaneous

I received a water bill for $577.51 from 8/3/10-11/2/10 which states that we used 440 gal per day. We received our next bill from 11/2/11-2/1/11for $734.29 which states that we used 561 gal per day. Two people live in this home and no one is home during the day until after 3:00 P.M. I took the bill to the City of North Miami Beach on 2/14 and spoke with a supervisor requesting that someone come out and check the meter and lines for leakage. I was told they don't do this that it's the home owers responsibility. I had a licensed plummer come out and check the meter and all my lines on 2/15 per the City. No leakage was found and the meter was working properly, water on arrow turns, water off arrow stands still. I took my findings back to the City of North Miami Beach and immediately they have scheduled someone to come out on 2/16 to check the meter and to check for leaks. Something is wrong. Why did I have to spend $245.00 and now the City of North Miami Beach is coming out to do what I had asked be done from the beginning and was told that the City doesn't do this. I asked what about the bill I was told that I still had to pay it because the water was used.
