CVS Caremark
Stop blaming others for your erro

Miscellaneous

I'm a caregiver for my mother and at one time found myself whining and complaining like many of the people who submitted their complain. That's until I took a job working in a Dr's office full time and then a pharmacy part time. There's an easy resolution to your situation. LEARN TO READ THE FINE PRINT OF YOUR PLAN! Period! I've had to deal with MEDCO, Express Scripts, etc and no one takes back medication just because someone orders in error and then decides it's the wrong medication. Once it's shipped - it's yours. No one can restock or resell it. If you left any pharmacy and decide later on you ordered the wrong medication in error do you think the pharmacy will accept it back? No. If they do, please let me know what pharmacy it is. They are violating the FDA guidelines. I wouldn't want a medication someone else had the option to put something in it. The pharmacy is here to keep us safe. My mother was taking heart medication and it wasn't covered by her CVS/Caremark plan. I huffed and puffed and emailed people and filed complaints. I did everything but read her insurance plan. Her company decides what they will cover. Some medications required a prior authorization to be covered.instead of the Dr's office telling me they didn't want to waste time filling out unnecessary paperwork they told me Caremark wants to see your mother die. They don't care about her health and well being. She's been with this Doctor for years, so I believed him. Long story short, she had to transfer to a new Doctor who 1. Thought the medication prescribed by the previous doctor didn't fit the diagnosis and possible would've killed her, 2. Found a better drug and faxed the paper work over 3.7 years later my mother is traveling and enjoying life. Understand your plan before you make a company out to be a company who do not want to provide medication to their members. Hello, they're out to make money. Not loose it. I've had to call in Prior authorizations for my patients only to find out the reason why Mr. So and so couldn't get his controlled medication is because he's gotten the same medication from 3 diffent Dr's, 3 different pharmacies, but wasn't smart enough to NOT use his insurance for his addiction. I can go on and on about what I've learned in my 7 year battle. Your Medical, Dental, and Rx plan will only cover what your plan allow. Period! Also, for the ones who are complaining about mail order medications not being returned due to you decide to return it without consent - deal with it. There is a no return policy for medication unless it is a pharmacy error. Not a member who order one medication online and then the dr's office decided to fax in a new dosage. The pharmacies aren't mind readers. I deal with multiple patients (young and old) who take multiple dosages of one medication due to the strength needed isn't availabe. That's not just at this site but at multiples. I've had the several mail order pharmacies fax me their procedures due to elderly patients bringing in bags of medications to see if other patients can use it. We've even had to reimburse a very angry patient because of our error. I've called one afternoon and cursed a rep out only to find out 1. Mrs. Only following what the bottle says called in and ordered the medication even though she was aware we took her off of it. Her excuse was she didn't want a customer service rep loose their job if she didn't order her meds on time. Knowledge is power.
