Abuse and Lying

I worked with this company giving my all, which was part time starting in June, I like to do the best job I can do. I guess I should of noticed a red flag, when they didn't have any regular long term employees. Being a tax agency, they were coming into their so time, so I told them I was taking another temporary job until Jan. And they were ok with that. Well come Jan. They told me they were moving on, and then I asked so are you letting me go, and they said you quit. I have heard other stories throughout working there of how people were treated, they way they lied about saying I quit, and never said such a thing. The owners wife slapped me on the hand a couple of times, along with another co-worker, and they say they want to be professional, being they do taxes for law enforcement, and have 1100 clients. They find ways to say people quit, and I'm sure if you check unemployment office, there are several requests.
