Purchased my 2 IPhone should have learned a lesson after bad 1st one

Thought I would give the IPhone 3G a chance after bad experience with my first one. Had this one about 3 months and it froze with a picture of the usb connection cable on the front of the screen. I tried to reboot it, I reconnected it to my computer, I tried to contact customer service without success, I took it in leto the store and they could not fix it but I was not offered another phone. I needed a phone so I had to buy another phone (a samsung phone which was not cheap and I hate it) I have spent literally hundreds of dollars with AT&T and Apple. The first one I finally got in to the Apple store in Memphis TN. I waited all day and I had to trade my new nonworking I phone for a refurbished one that worked only about 3 months and I lost all the apps. I had bought. Then I decided to give the newer 3G version a try I had it about 3-4 months and it froze with a picture of the usb connection cable on the screen. I tried everything, rebooting, reconnecting to my computer and nobody could help me. I took it in to the store and they couldn't fix it so I had to buy another phone (Samsung phone that I hate but at least it works) The point is I should not have had to buy another phone and leave the IPhone sitting just as it was unrepaired. Hundreds of dollars down the drain. I will never recommend an I phone to anyone, they work very short time and you cant get any help repairing them. You should not have this trouble with a new phone—It is a useless piece of junk. The first one I gave away to someone for parts. That was 4oo dollars worth of parts as far as I am concerned. I then took a foolish chance and bought another IPhone piece of junk. It is sitting in a drawer)-more hundreds of dollars of junk. I am recommending to everyone I know to switch to Verizon and get their Fascinate which is similar to the I phone but hopefully better. I cant remember when I have ever been as angry about being basically cheated-apple and AT&T should not be allowed to sell this trash especially when they do not stand behind their product.
