We are a small online retail company in Los Angeles. On October 13 Valerie Hoffman of Winter Harbor Maine, placed what for us is a substantial order which we shipped and which we confirmed ship received. Today, December 10, we received a notice of charge back from the credit card company for the full amount of Valeries "purchase", along with a statement from a party in Florida who complained that they're card had been used fraudulently. When I Googled her name, Valerie Hoffman of the same Winter Harbor address seems to figure prominently in a number of scams that involve defrauding small businesses. Great. Business is tough out there and this kind of crap hurts. I'd be happy to hear she was behind bars.
