I purchased a Sony TX-9 camera from sony's website. I paid a total of $375.00 for this camera on 11/15/10. First off the customer service number has you call another number. Then when you get the option to chat, they tell you call the customer service number. When I had to go back into a chat and explain their number does not allow you to speak with anyone I was transferred who knows where. I advised the rep that I have not had the camera long but that someone else knocked the camera into water. The rep then advises me that since "I dropped my camera in water it is not covered under their warranty". I had corrected him to let him know that I did NOT DROP my camera... It was knocked in water. Now, I know products that I have spent substantially less on - cover their product when the purchase date is less than 30 days! He then goes into details on where I can pay to ship the camera (somewhere in CT), and IF they can repair they will call me to tell me how much it will cost me. I then asked for corporates' phone number and the rep proceeded to ask me why do i want the number... And never gave me the number. I AM APPALLED @ SONY!!! I really thought you were better than that.
