Tricky, not helpful. Makes me feel less safe ordering online. - the Verified by Visa program

I was trying to make a purchase from a reputable vendor, and I thought I had taken the last step in the order process.instead was at a " Verified by Visa " page. I had to input all my credit card info one more time. I was very uncomfortable doing this, but I did because I wanted to complete my purchase.

After reading the other reviews, I guess I was lucky I went to an error page. They couldn't "verify" me. The page had an 800 number for questions. I called and once again, I was asked for my confidential financial info. The Verified by Visa customer rep said he couldn't see why there was an error and connected me to Visa.

I was greeted by a nice lady from India who told me to call my bank and enroll. That is not going to happen, but now I don't know how to retrieve my information from the vendor. I will not order from them again, but it makes me very uncomfortable for them to have all my information.

I wish there was a notice BEFORE you start the transaction. I will avoid any vendor using this deceitful service.
