GE Monogram—poor quality - GE Monogram Trivection Oven

Miscellaneous

The GE Monogram division has apparently abandoned any shred of a quality assurance program for the manufacturing of their kitchen appliances. I purchased their entire suite of appliances for my kitchen. I've had problems with 4 of the 7,3 of which were under warranty. The latest is the Trivection double oven. It is only 17 months old, no longer under warranty and I am stuck paying over $250 for labor for 2 people because the entire oven unit has to be pulled out. Customer relations said they would pay for the labor, OR the parts and service call, but not both. The parts alone are $1,000. At this time, neither oven is useable. While they sent out a repairman the day after I called, he had to order parts so another week went by. Arriving today, he informed me that one of the parts he needed had not been sent in the box that was delivered, but was back-ordered. It will be another week before my ovens are fixed. So I guess after spending a small fortune on their appliances, if you don't fork out hundreds more every year for extended warranties on every appliance, you can just be stuck with the repair bills. Guess I should have bought Wolf or Viking. My former GE appliances were 19 years old and the refrigerator was 30 years old before it quit! So, Mr. Ray Graft, President of the appliance division, what say you?
