We applied for the making homes affordable program one year ago. We were assured that we would not be reported as late as long as we weren't late. Yea, right. Just found out last week that they started reporting us late after we had been in the trial program for four months. We have letters from them stating that our account is in excellent standing. We also have a letter that they are accelerating default proceedings. These people don't know S*T from shinola. Now, eight months later, we get a letter that the modification was denied. A real shocker there. They lied to us, ruined our credit which was PERFECT up until then, and now they expect us to pay for the privilege. Hope they aren't holding their breath waiting for that next mortgage payment.
