Adjustable pedals... - adjustable pedal operation

I've got a complaint with the adjustable pedals factory supplied by the ford motor company and i can't get the dealership to listen. This is my complaint: there is a rocker switch mounted on the dashboard with an illustration of a foot being placed over a floor pedal. The switch is placed vertically where it can be depressed on the lower end or upper end depending on wether you want the pedals raised or lowered. The problem is that when you press the lever up, the pedals go down. When you press the lower portion of the switch to lower the pedals, the pedals come up! Many times i find the shorter female operators in my family sitting right on top of the steering wheel and air bag thinking that they raised the foot pedals as high as they can go, when in fact they're all the way to the floor. The dealer would not reverse the switch wiring. He blew me off with the explanation that they are all that way. Does that make it right? It doesn't make it safer for my family if all the others are also wired wrong! If i new how to get the switch out of the dash without destroying everything i would switch the wiring myself. It would certainly make me feel better.
