How Much Is Your Time Worth

Miscellaneous

Yesterday, November 12, I had driven north of Seattle to Everett and y chance stopped at Target, which I persaonally "liked". We were looking for a bookcase and saw that they had a bookcase/room divider on clearance but there was no price. I had asked a young gentleman to look up the price and minutes he came back and told me it was on clearance for $49.98! I was ecstatic! The he went on to burst my bubble and said they didn't have any in stock nor did the Lynnwood location BUT Lake Stevens had 3!! NOw I am not familiar with Everett let alone a place I never been but I asked for directions and ventured out late in the night to get this item #0026.

After a seemingless long drive to an unknown location, I arrive with exhaustion and anxiousness. I get inside, locate the item and behold... No items on the shelf! I asked to talk to a 'customer service' helper and they assured me that there was none in the back as well. I was furious, having drove all the way north (now about 40 minutes from home and close to closing time) and asked to talk to the manager. He arrived a I told him the situation. He said yes there shows 3 in store but the items were clearly not available AND that the other store should have called before sending me all the way up there! Now my question is in 2 parts. First, why didn't Target try to make it right and offer another item close to value at same price and 2nd, why the hell don't they sell the displays? I didn't get so much as a discount coupon or anything for my time and energy for coming to an location which I should have never have gone too, if their workers were competent! Time, gas and wear and tear on my car was all utilized for some half-ass customer service!

Please let me know of other forums so that I may enlighten the masses on Target's so desire to please their customer after screwing them over.
