Insect killer killed my lawn

I used bayer advanced insect killer and it killed my lawn. I used according to the directions and within 5 days the lawn was dead. The company answered my e-mail stating that this product has no herbicidal properties and does not contain fertilizer, they also said its been tested at 4 to 5 times the application rate. Without any problems. All i know is i used it to prevent grubs and it killed my lawn. I didnt use it in the bakyard and it is green and healthy
