NJ Steno Jobs
Payment due for court reporting services

Miscellaneous

On January 5, I took an assignment in Toms River, New Jerey for NJ Steno. I submitted that job in early February. On May 19, I inquired as to when I was going to get paid. I called NJ Steno and spoke to Ron Friis. Ron informed me that he had no record of it, to send it over, and he would get it out right away. That is what I did. It is the policy of NJ Steno that you receive payment within three weeks of submission of your job if it is sent over within seven to ten days. After a certain amount of days, you have to wait until they get paid by their client. Not only have I been waiting since February to get paid, but I am still waiting. NJ Steno received payment from their client. Payment went out on July 17. I know this because I called their client. On August 4 I sent an email to Glenn Friis, president of NJ Steno, and Chris Friis. I never received a reply from Glenn Friis; however, I did from Chris Friis. I got a lecture that they were lucky to get paid because it was so late, through no fault of their own, and that my check was in line to be processed. On August 9 I sent an email to Chris Friis inquiring as to where my check might be and that this goes against labor laws, and I was going to file a claim in small claims court. His response was, "File it. "I waited another two weeks, and still no check. That's where I am now.
