While travling southbound on IL294 tollway at 9:00pm 7/30/10 a FED X ground truck tried to run me off the road. The truck came barreling up behind me so close that his headlights and grill were not visible in my rear window. Lanes on either side of me were wide open but the truck kept coming closer and honking at me. I tried to speed up to allow enough room for me to safely move to another lane. Even at 70mph he wouldn't back off, the faster I went the faster he went getting even closer. At one point it felt like he had actually tapped my car. I finally was able to move to the next lane and called the police. The truck then pulled up next to me, swearving in and out of my lane and flipping me off. He also appeared to be yelling at me but I couldn't hear him inside my car. He then sped ahead and did the same to car after car as each one tried to get out of his way. He was going so fast that we lost sight of him in a few minutes. I don't know if the police ever caught up to him. I called FED X with the license plate # (IN) P143060, the truck #810008, cab #115066 but FED X told me that they don't take complaints. I went to their website when I got home but they don't take complaints either! Great way of doing business. No package is worth the life of an innocent driver who gets in their way! Behavior like this contributes to public perception that all truck drivers are on drugs!!
