Magic Jack
Unreliable

I am going back to my old phone service. The sound quality is terrible, calls drop at random, 911 operator reached 400 miles away from home in an emergency (despite setting up the 911 service for my address), and many calls have broken sound or computerized reverberations/feedback. Also cannot send faxes. I have done everything to maintain my "jack" monthly as suggested. Last week it just stopped working and said "needs to be plugged in to usb". Was never moved, loosened or jarred. Had to unplug it and retry only to get the same message again. Finally just swapped my printer cable and the magic jack from usb ports. But it really didn't solve much of anything, just made a poor connection. Now I'm having worse problems with dropped calls. As of last night, my magic jack dropped 2 calls to the same person and now I cannot hear anything on the other end of the phone as I tried to call back! Not hearing the people on the other end is a common problem but this is now consistent. My jack is worthless. Won't be buying a replacement after all the hassles. $1.70 a month is a great price if you want a very unreliable phone service and want to deal with the glitches and problems that go along with the service. I've had this magic jack for 9 months too long!
