Nice looking young man comes to my door. He said his name was Seth Tucker.
Medium height, blond hair that was a few inches long. He says "It's meet your neighbors day" in a friendly way and says he lives down the street. He could even describe which house a half a mile down the street he lived at. I didn't know who lived there, so I bought into it.
He said he was on a baseball team and they won regionals so they were going to Hawaii and he was doing a fundraiser. He was selling baskets of books for kids with Vandy. He also said his parents said not to take advantage of their neighbors, so he would come back and help wash windows. He said his father had a company where they washed windows and cleaned gutters.
I told him I was cooking lunch Friday June 4 for some flooded victims and said instead of washing my windows, he could come back to help cook for 25 people who need food.
I wrote a check for what he said was a tax deductible charity.

He left leaving one of his sales props and so I walked down the street a couple houses and called to him and held it up so he could come get it. A white van turned down a street near the corner where he turned to come retrieve his lost prop. A young girl in the van was talking to him.

He left and then I realized I never got a receipt. And then I started to piece things together. I walked to my neighbors' houses and told them about him. They knew the house he described and said he didn't live there.
I then went to my computer and did a little background check.

I first called my bank and canceled the check.
I then called the police and reported it.

It irritates me that they prey on the kind and generous.
